This Privacy Policy explains how MyBible collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use the application, website and connected services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that is necessary to provide, maintain, personalise and improve MyBible. The information collected depends on how you use the application and which features you choose to enable.
Account information
When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, authentication details and other information needed to identify and secure your account.
Profile and preference information
We may collect preferences such as your selected Bible translation, areas of spiritual growth, church or congregation day, notification choices, theme settings and other personalisation options you provide.
Usage information
We may collect information about how you interact with MyBible, including screens viewed, features used, reading activity, search activity, saved Scriptures, highlights, downloads, quiz activity, app engagement and general interaction patterns.
Device and technical information
We may collect device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, crash reports, performance information, network status and identifiers used for security, diagnostics and analytics.
Content you create
MyBible may store content you choose to create or save, including journal entries, notes, sketches, prayer reflections, task details, habits, saved verses and other personal content.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and operate MyBible's features and services.
- Create, secure and manage your account.
- Synchronise your content across supported devices.
- Remember your settings, preferences and selected Bible translation.
- Personalise recommendations, reminders and daily experiences.
- Improve performance, reliability, accessibility and product design.
- Respond to requests, feedback and technical issues.
- Detect abuse, fraud, unauthorised access and security threats.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
3. Journal Entries and Personal Content
Your journal entries, private notes, sketches, prayer reflections and similar personal content are treated as private account content. We do not sell your journal entries or private spiritual reflections.
Where cloud synchronisation is enabled, this content may be securely stored so that it can be restored or accessed across supported devices. You remain responsible for the content you create and for keeping your account credentials secure.
4. AI-Powered Features
Some MyBible features may use automated or artificial-intelligence-powered systems to help identify relevant Scripture references, generate contextual guidance, organise information or support discovery experiences.
Information you submit to these features may be processed by service providers strictly for the purpose of producing the requested result, maintaining safety and improving reliability. MyBible is designed so that Bible text is sourced from supported Bible content rather than invented by an automated system.
Automated responses may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not replace Scripture itself, pastoral care, professional counselling, medical advice, legal advice or other qualified support.
5. How We Store and Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
These safeguards may include encrypted network connections, access controls, authentication protections, secure cloud infrastructure, monitoring and restricted access to production systems. No electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
6. Data Synchronization and Cloud Storage
When you are signed in, selected information may be synchronised through cloud services so that your account, settings, saved content and progress can remain available across supported devices.
Some Bible content and app features may also be stored locally on your device for faster access or offline use. Removing the app or clearing device storage may delete locally stored content that has not been synchronised.
7. Analytics and Diagnostics
We may use analytics and diagnostic tools to understand app performance, feature usage, crashes and general engagement. This information helps us identify problems, improve stability and make MyBible easier to use.
Where possible, analytics are collected in an aggregated or pseudonymous form. We do not use analytics to sell your private journal content or personal spiritual reflections.
8. Advertising
The free version of MyBible may display advertisements, including rewarded advertisements or other placements that help support the service. Advertising providers may process device, interaction or approximate location information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable law.
We do not provide advertisers with your private journal entries, personal notes or prayer reflections. Paid plans may reduce or remove certain advertisements depending on the subscription selected.
9. Third-Party Services
MyBible may rely on third-party services for authentication, cloud storage, analytics, crash reporting, content delivery, notifications, payments, advertising and automated features.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We select services intended to support security and reliability, but we do not control every aspect of a third party's independent practices.
10. Children's Privacy
MyBible is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children below the minimum age required to consent to digital services in their country without appropriate parental or guardian involvement.
If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us so that we can review and, where required, delete the information.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, fulfil the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect MyBible and its users.
When you complete a MyBible account deletion request, we retain only a minimal deletion audit record consisting of a hashed email identifier, your user ID, request and completion timestamps, support reference and limited failure metadata for up to 24 months for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security investigations and dispute handling.
12. Account Deletion
You may request permanent deletion of your MyBible account through the public How to delete MyBible account page. If MyBible links to this flow from an in-app Settings entry point, it uses the same permanent deletion process.
After a valid request, MyBible permanently deletes your profile and associated synced data, including journals, highlights, saved Scriptures, activity history, tasks, habits and account-owned uploaded content. This process is permanent deletion, not deactivation or disabling. Information stored only on your device may still need to be removed from that device separately.
We retain only the limited deletion audit data described above where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security investigations or dispute handling.
13. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, objection to or portability of certain personal information.
You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise a privacy right, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
14. International Data Transfers
MyBible and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Data-protection laws in those countries may differ from local laws.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards intended to protect information transferred internationally.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to MyBible, legal requirements, technology or our information practices. When changes are material, we may provide notice within the app, on the website or through another appropriate channel.
The updated policy becomes effective on the date shown at the top of the page. Continued use of MyBible after that date means the updated policy applies.
